During detox from drugs or alcohol, patients generally stay up to one week. Occasionally, a patient may require a longer time frame in order to complete the process.
An individual participating in the Adult Chemical Dependency Program may stay as long as 28 days. However, treatment is always provided on an individual basis, so participation may be shorter. Adolescents in the chemical dependency program may require eight weeks.
Patients in the Acute Psychiatric Program commonly stay for 7-10 days, but this may vary depending on individual progress and circumstances.
If you are in the military, your discharge date must be coordinated with your physician, case manager, the treatment team and your unit command.
Our patients have a variety of therapy opportunities available at Cumberland Hall each day. Group therapy is led by doctoral and masters level therapists. Therapeutic education groups and daily recreational therapy are also available. For those in our Chemical Dependency Program, we offer specialized groups.
Patients will meet with their primary therapist to complete a psychosocial assessment. Adult patients may request additional individual time and are also encouraged to attend and participate in a family therapy session.
Patients can expect to meet with their psychiatrist on a daily basis. We also provide medication therapy as needed.
